The Illinois Judges Association consists of over 1250 current and retired judges. The Association supports judicial excellence and professional development and judicial education, fosters public confidence in an independent judiciary, works to preserve the independence of the judiciary by educating the public and students, and promotes a diverse judiciary that administers justice in a fair and impartial court system.

 IJA's October #ProBono Spotlight is 18th Judicial Circuit Judge Bryan Chapman, chair of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee. Judge Chapman facilitates partnerships between Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) , Prairie State Legal Services , DuPage Legal Aid, DuPage Legal Answers, the Help Desk Standing Committee, and Veterans Affairs, and encourages these organizations to collaborate with one another in an effort to provide pro bono services to the community.
