Emeritus

The Emeritus Council is comprised of retired Appellate Justices, retired Chief Judges and retired Presiding Judges—all of whom were extremely successful at their jobs.  They are legal luminaries who are trusted by judges and the entire legal community. We are grateful they have agreed to serve the people of Illinois once again.  

Illinois judges who have been the subject of press comment may confer with these judges and seek advice about how to respond or even sometimes how to do better as a judge.  In some cases, the Emeritus Council will issue a statement to the press.
