Hon. Julie K. Katz

Julie K. Katz Currently serves as an Associate Circuit Judge for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit, St. Clair County, Illinois (since November 2010), where she presides over a chancery/miscellaneous remedies docket.

Justice Katz graduated from the University of Illinois Law School in 1984. She was in private practice for 26 years before her appointment as an Associate Circuit Judge, with a concentration in the area of family law.

She is serving as First Vice president of the Illinois Judges Association for the 2026–27 term. Her professional associations and community service include:
