The Illinois Judges Foundation “Judges Joke” event will take place on February 20, 2025, at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago’s continuously expanding West Loop. Doors open at 5:30 p.m, and the show begins at 6:00 p.m. IJF first held Judges Joke in 2021 as Covid restrictions began to loosen. Then IJF President Michael J. Chmiel, who now serves as Chief Judge of the 22nd Judicial Circuit, spearheaded the event. It was held remotely and was a huge success.
This year, under the leadership of IJF President April Troemper, Judges Joke will be in person! Attendees will have the unique opportunity to experience the funny side of the judge performers as they compete in the comedy/monologue arena. In the spirit of good humor, sitting and/or retired judges and justices will perform comedy monologues. Those in attendance will then be able to vote for their favorite performance.
The IJF is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization that provides scholarships to law students and engages in other charitable purposes. The ticket price of $100.00 includes food, two drink tickets, attendance at the show, and unlimited laughter. You can purchase tickets here.
