The IJA’s walking challenge is gaining traction! All members are invited to add a little more movement to your day, connect with fellow IJA members, and keep yourself accountable by tracking your steps. Stick to a schedule, and you might just earn an IJA Yeti tumbler for your efforts.
We’re asking members to accept
the challenge, start with a 5–10 minute walk each day, and build up from there. The top walker wins the Yeti!
If you haven’t signed up yet, use the link below to install the StepUp app and join the IJA Wellness Test Group. Let’s see how many steps IJA can take together!
Already joined, but your steps aren’t showing up? These troubleshooting tips can help get you moving—and counting!
- Check App Permissions iPhone: Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness and make sure Fitness Tracking and StepUp/Apple Health are enabled. Android: Go to Settings → Apps → StepUp → Permissions and make sure Physical Activity/Fitness access is allowed.
- Sync Your Wearable or Health Data In the StepUp app, go to Settings → Sync Wearables and reconnect your device if needed. Apple Health: Open Health → Browse → Steps → Data Sources & Access → Edit and make sure your preferred device (phone or watch) is at the top of the priority list. Android/Health Connect: Check Data Sources and Priority under the activity category to make sure your preferred source is selected.
- Check Background Settings Make sure Background App Refresh is enabled for StepUp. Turn off Low Power Mode/Battery Saver if it is preventing the app from updating in the background. Try restarting both your phone and smartwatch/fitness tracker. Important: If you do not use a wearable device, you must carry your phone with you for your steps to be recorded.
Happy stepping, IJA!
